Cooperation with other caregivers
Having partnerships with other specialised caregivers and care-providing organisations is very important to de Praktijk voor Psychotherapie Amsterdam e.o.. By combining and exchanging knowledge and expertise, a lot of people with mental illness can be helped with their specific health problems. As a group practice we closely collaborate with GPs, other practices en mental health institutions ands universities.
We regularly cooperate with a psychiatrist for psychiatric consultations and for prescribing medication if needed. For supervision, multidisciplinary consultation and intervision group meetings, we have regular cooperation agreements with a psychiatrist, clinical psychologists, psychotherapists and GZ psychologists.
With your approval, we will send a letter to your GP and/or to the person who referred you to our practice. In this letter we report on the problems mentioned during your intake, the diagnosis, the therapy indication, and policies. Upon termination of the therapy we will also send a brief report to the referring physician on the course of therapy, the results and/or any advice for further referral and treatment. This of course, is also done with your approval. Your GP will also be informed during therapy when interim evaluations take place.
