Cooperation with other caregivers
Having partnerships with other specialized caregivers and care-providing organizations is very important to the Practice for Psychotherapy Amsterdam and vicinity. By combining and exchanging knowledge and expertise, a lot of people with mental illness can be helped with their specific health problems. As a group practice we closely collaborate with GPs, psychiatrists, occupational physicians, company nurses and social workers.
For prescribing medication or, when desirable, additional examinations can be done by one of the psychiatrists with whom we collaborate. For supervision and intervision group meetings, we have cooperation agreements with a psychiatrist, a clinical psychologist /psychotherapist /psychoanalystand and another psychotherapist.
With your approval, we will send a letter to your GP and/or to the person who referred you to our practice. In this letter we report on the health problems, the diagnosis, the therapy indication, and policies. Upon termination of the therapy we will also send a brief report to the referring physician on the course of therapy, the results and/or any advice for further referral and treatment. This of course, is also done with your approval. Your GP will also be informed during therapy when interim evaluations take place.
