Our vision and philosophy
To be as sure as possible that we will be able to help you with your symptoms and problems we offer several types of treatment, including short-term treatment for a single, specific mental disorder.
We value your opinion, are interested in your experience, and appreciate the feelings you express. We want to help you the right and suitable way so improvements will be noticeable. We carry on as long as needed, until the problems have been adequately resolved. Scientific research has shown that the greater the client’s motivation and the longer the therapy, the better the results will be.
Therapy and personality
Our practice focusses on personality disorders which are often complex and persistent in nature. It takes perseverance to learn to understand where problems are coming from and what role personality plays. During therapy you will learn to reflect more and more on your thoughts and feelings. The therapist will help you to break through dysfunctional thinking patterns, and to develop a new way of looking at problems and stay motivated while doing so.
Trust between therapist and client
We consider trust between therapist and client to be one of the most important requirements for building a good relationship. That seems obvious, but for people who have often experienced trouble in their relationships, it isn’t.
We consider the treatment completed when you are able to have made a fundamental change in your personality without having lost your own identity and can be expected to no longer relapse into old behavioral patterns.
